What are the benefits of the new welded seams?
Unlike traditional glued seams that can weaken over time due to heat and UV exposure, the 2026 Monarch features heat-welded seams. This creates a mechanical bond that is nearly impossible to delaminate, ensuring superior air retention and a much longer lifespan for the board.
How does the AirLite™ Drop Stitch affect performance?
The AirLite™ Drop Stitch material allows the board to maintain its rock-solid rigidity while being 10 lbs lighter than previous models. This makes the board more responsive on the water, easier to accelerate, and much less of a chore to carry to remote launch spots.
Is this paddleboard suitable for dogs or children?
Yes. With its generous 34-inch width and stable all-around shape, the Monarch is an excellent choice for "paddling with a partner." The updated full-length deck pad provides a comfortable, non-slip grip for a dog’s paws or a child sitting at the nose.
What is a "Hinged Fin Box" and why does it matter?
The Hinged Fin Box is a 2026 upgrade that allows the fin base to fold slightly when deflated. This prevents the fin box from being damaged during storage and makes it much easier to roll the board up tightly into its travel bag without creating awkward pressure points.
What is the recommended PSI for the Monarch?
For optimal performance and rigidity, we recommend inflating the Monarch to 12–15 PSI. Thanks to the welded seam construction, the board can safely handle these pressures to provide a stiff, "hard-board" feel even in choppy water or light river rapids.
